Artist's Comments

Princess Tutu and Princess Kraehe. A magical dancing guidance counsellor and a skanktastic ballet ninja. How can you not love this series? It's like what you'd get if Hans Christian Andersen collaborated with Kunihiko Ikuhara to make an anime. With BALLET!

Admittedly, the series is probably not for everyone. Here are some possible reasons for you to NOT enjoy Princess Tutu:
- You suffer from a dangerously low amount of pants in your life.
- You hate Love, Happiness, and little yellow duckies.
- Your family was killed by a ballerina.
If none of these applies to you, then I would suggest checking the series out right away. Here's a pretty good Princess Tutu info page: [link]

Note: Everything I know about ballet, I learned from this anime and from the movie Billy Eliot. So I hope those who know better don't find it too annoying if I made some gross error in their posture (over and above my usual anatomy screw-ups; in hindsight, Tutu really looks like she has a few dislocated joints). ^^;;

PLEASE DON'T SAY "THANK YOU", IT'S IMPLIED.... and everytime you say 'thank you' I'm forced to kill a kitten! Do you wanna be the one responsible for making me kill a kitten?!

Having not seen the show (but now passionately wanting to - hurrah for crack, hurrah!), that is a gorgeous picture. I like how crisp everything is and how each dancer has a distinct air and attitude happening.

I especially like your rendering of the ballerina costume details, like the extra floof in the skirt and the feathers in their hair. I'd also have to say, the simplicity of the background works nicely in your favor here :) Makes the dancers pop.
:iconandrael:
Thanks! ^_^ I figured that for this one I had a good excuse to stick with a simple background. Also, I think you'd like Princess Tutu if you're into Mahou Tsukai Tai; the creator is the same.

Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my uncle Jack off a horse.." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse.."
:iconmadnessensured:
Absolutely lovely! I love your style, reminds me of Utena, which has the most goregeous art ever! Love the contrast and expressions. Well done.

"Oh Professor look! I think I found an unaspected planet! Oooh, which one's that, Professor?"
"It is Uranus my dear." said Professor Trelawney peering down at the chart.
"Can I have a look at Uranus too, Lavender?" said Ron.
:icontayce:
Awsome! ^.^
